The Cadillac Series 62 Coupe DeVille you see here did not start its journey with us as a stock classic. It arrived already transformed — previously built as a bold lowrider project, featuring an air-ride suspension system, a chopped roof, and a heavily modified rear end.
This car had already gone through a custom build before reaching our workshop. It came to us for a different purpose: restoration, refinement, and full technical preparation — to turn it into a reliable, show-ready classic.
The design itself carries strong influences from true American icons — hints of the 1963 Mercury Meteor in the upper lights and the unmistakable spirit of the 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood in the lower sections, echoing the golden age of coachbuilt classics.
It could have been a stunning car — but when it arrived, it was clear that the execution lacked care. The chassis showed severe rust damage, the paint was cracked and peeling, and both the windshield and rear window — made from plexiglass — were heavily scratched and clouded. Mechanically, the car was far from roadworthy. Wheel hubs were loosening, and the transmission output shaft showed alarming play. The entire car reflected quick fixes, fragile solutions, and years of neglect.
Our goal was not to redesign the car — but to make it what it should have been from the beginning: a solid, reliable, and properly finished custom classic.
At Widi Automotive, the car was partially disassembled and carefully rebuilt where it mattered most.
The suspension — including the air-ride system — was repaired and properly set up for dependable operation. The braking system went through a revision and minor repairs. The engine received a full mechanical service and revision to ensure smooth, reliable performance.
Beyond the mechanical work, the car also received a full cosmetic restoration. The exterior was completely repainted, chrome elements were refinished, and the interior was renewed with fresh upholstery and a new carpet set. The dashboard was restored, re-chromed, and refinished to match the character of the car.
To elevate the experience further, modern comfort and usability features were added. The car now includes electric window regulators, remote central locking, and a completely new audio system — transforming it into a true show car.
The result is a Cadillac that not only looks bold, but is now prepared to appear at events, exhibitions, and gatherings with confidence — while also being capable of reliable, enjoyable drives.
A custom classic that finally matches its presence.
